The FC Westchester premier soccer club – designated a U.S. Soccer Development Academy Club -- will conduct tryouts for its 2008/2009 Under 10 through Under 14 boys teams on the following dates at SUNY Purchase on Anderson Hill Road in Purchase, N.Y.:

· Thursday, May 15
· Tuesday, May 20
· Thursday, May 22nd
· Thursday, May 29

The club will also conduct tryouts for a new U12 Girls team at at SUNY Purchase on May 15, May 20 and May 22.

REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE FIELDS JUST PRIOR TO TRYOUTS.  Interested players should try to make as many of the four tryout date as possible.

Two FC Westchester teams have made it to the semifinals of the 2008 US Youth Soccer ENY State Championships and one has a chance to move on next Sunday.

On Saturday, May 3, the U15 FCW ’93 Boys won in penalty kicks against arch nemisis BW Gottschee.  Last year, the two teams went to PKs, with Gottschee taking the win.  Meanwhile, on Sunday, the U14  '94 Boys beat Albertson 2-1 to get to the state final four.

Next Sunday, the U12 '96 Boys can become the third FCW team to get to the semis when they take on Massapequa at Massapequa.

The FC Westchester U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Academy squads had a successful trip to Washington, D.C. this weekend, going 3-1 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy league play.

On Sunday, FC Westchester's Under-16s and U-18 teams posted victories over their counterparts at the Potomac Soccer Club in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The U-16 won its match, 2-1, behind a first-half goal from Juan Diego Ocampo and a second half tally from Brad Jacobson. The U-18's scored a 3-0 win. Jonathan Dos Reis scored early in the second half and Stepjan Bandov added two goals.

Bandov scored the game-winner on Saturday, as his lone tally resulted in a 1-0 FCW U18 win over D.C. United.  The U16s lost 2-0 to D.C. United, in a game also played Saturday.

F.C. Westchester is among a select number of clubs that have been chosen by the US Soccer Federation to be a U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy program, a revolutionary initiative that will start this fall. The program is designed to extend the Federation’s National Team program, putting an emphasis on the development of the player by improving their daily environment.  FC Westchester’s U16 and U18 Boys teams will be participating in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Northeast Conference.

The FC Westchester ’91 Boys have won the U17 Championship of the prestigious Disney Showcase, held Christmas week in Orlando.

Three FC Westchester teams won their respective league competitions in the fall season.

The FC Westchester '94s, coached by Carlos Casas and Sean Kenny, took home first place honors in the U14 Cosmpolitan Premier League, comprised of the top U14 teams in the metropolitan New York area.  In taking the title, the 94s defeated defending State Cup champions Somers Lasers and B.W. Gottschee, a top team in this age group.

Meanwhile, the FC Westchester '97s, coached by Coach Kenny, took home the first place trophies in Division 1 of the Westchester Youth Soccer League  U11 age group, while the FC Westchester '95s, coached by Niall Archbold and Anton McKeon, finished atop Division 1 of the WYSL U13 age group.

Tampa, FL -- United Soccer Leagues has announced the final selections for the Super Y-League’s ODP National Camps to be held at the Cocoa Expo Center in Cocoa, Florida in January and February of 2008 and said that 15 members of FC Westchester teams were selected. 

Selections from the 2007 season were made from the identification system by the Super Y-League National ODP Scouting Staff. The selection process was then finalized by the ODP Staff Coaches, and assembled by the USL office. U.S. National Team scouts will be attending the camps.

Named from FC Westchester were:

• Cesar Ceja, Brian Kenny, Jonathan Martinez, Andres Radich and Roberto Silva  from the FC Westchester '94s
• Michael Abraham, Gerardo Ceja, Ryan McNamara,  Marques Mayoras, Andres Penfold, Rory Shepard and Osvaldo Torres from the FC Westchester '93s.
• Bucky Illingworth and Brian Span from the FC Westchester '92 Boys.
• Brian Cabrera and  Thomas McNamara from the '91 Boys.
• Stepjan Bandov, John Gallagher, George Pourakis, Chris Holihan and Josh Renner  from the '90 Boys.

FC Westchester traveled to New Hampshire March 24 and 25th and came home sharing the TD North 2007 Club Championship Cup.

FC Westchester lost only 4 out of the 24 games that were played by the club during the weekend in this interclub competition that included fellow Super Y-League clubs Seacoast, MPS Boston, MPS Cape Cod and the Ottawa Fury.

The FC Westchester ’91 Boys have once again won the the State Cup, topping East Fishkill 3-0 in the finals of the U16 age group in a match held in Saratoga Springs, NY. on June 3.  It is the ’91s second consecutive State Cup and third cup title in the past four years.

The ’91s now move onto the 2007 US Youth Soccer Regionals to be held in Portland, Maine from June 28 to July 3

For the second year in a row, FC Westchester has won the Beachside Cup, an interclub competition that included U12-U18 teams from FC Westchester, Beachside FC, Coastal FC of Maine and Syracuse FC.  The latter three clubs are among the top two clubs in their respective state associations.  In all, out of 21 games FC Westchester teams played during the competition, they only lost two.

FC Westchester is a premier level soccer club based in Westchester County, NY that provides a unique opportunity for serious, skilled and dedicated soccer players. Designated a U.S. Soccer Development Academy by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the Club was formed in 1984 as a non-profit organization by Coach Al Pastore, who went on to be a national Youth Coach of the Year and is now in the Eastern NY Soccer Hall of Fame.

The primary mission of FC Westchester is to provide its players with the opportunity to compete at the highest level of competition throughout the United States. We have U11-U20 boys’ teams and a U14 girls’ team.

On the boys’ side, our U13-U17 teams play in the Super Y League, considered the "Premiership" of youth soccer leagues, as well as in other premier leagues. Our youngest teams play in the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL). Our oldest boys play in the United Soccer Leagues’ USL Super-20 League. On the girls’ side, our girls play in the WYSL.
