David McCollum, FC Westchester Director of Coaching and Head Coach, U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team

David McCollum was named Director of Coaching for FC Westchester in 2008. A former professional player in Germany, the Ireland native has been coaching in the Westchester County area since the early 1990s, working with a variety of clubs and teams. He was head coach of the Yorktown Spirit from 1999-2004, during which time the team won four consecutive State Cup Championships and was consistently ranked among the top 20 teams in the nation. Many of the players on that Yorktown Spirit team went on to major Division 1 college programs, including UConn, University of Maryland, Princeton, Michigan State, Brown, Albany, Binghamton, Sacred Heart, Marist and so on. Four of those players were drafted recently by the MLS: Kevin Reiman (Salt Lake Real); Dane Murphy (DC United); Ryan Cordiero (DC United) and Laurant Manuel (Red Bull NY) .

From 1999 to 2006, he was a member of the ODP State Coaching staff, serving as Head Coach for the Boys program in almost every age group from those players starting their State ODP careers to the oldest boys preparing to move on to play in college. In 2007, he began coaching the FC Westchester ’93 Boys, leading the team to the ENYYSA U16 State Cup championship, making him five for five in state cup finals. For the past few years, he has also been the Director of Coaching of the East Hudson Youth Soccer League and Director of Coaching of the league’s East Hudson Academy Program.

Sean Kenny, FC Westchester Technical Director and Director of the FC Westchester Youth Academy Program

Coach Kenny is the former assistant coach at nationally-ranked St. John’s University and was formerly the head coach of the North Jersey Imperials and New York Fever professional teams. Coach Kenny won the 1996 NCAA National Championship with St. John’s and he has been the coach of two FC Westchester teams that have won national championships and countless state cup championships. Most recently, he has led the FC Westchester ’94 Boys to the championship of the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Super Y League and will take that team to the Super Y League North American Finals to be held in Florida in November. He holds an USSF A license.

Lonny Unger, Assistant Director of Coaching and Assistant Coach, U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team

Coach Unger has been a Division 1 and Division 3 collegiate coach for more than a decade and has also served as one of the directors of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association ODP program. He has been a Division 1 assistant coach at both Iona College and Manhattan College and was the men’s soccer head coach at Purchase College, SUNY. While at Purchase College, he won Hudson Valley Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year honors. He has also been a staff coach for the ENYYSA ODP program and a Super Y League ODP regional staff coach. He is an USSF licensed coach and holds a KNVB coaching certificate from the Netherlands.

Chris Gonzales, Head Coach, FC Westchester U18 Boys U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team and Technical Director FCW U.S. Soccer Development Academy Program and Coach of the U10 Pre-Academy Training Team

Coach Gonzalez is an assistant coach at Iona College and is also the director of soccer for Future Stars Camps. He was previously the head men’s coach at Mercy College and prior to that was the assistant women’s coach at Iona College. In his playing days,, he was a star player at Fordham University and he grew up playing for FC Westchester. He is a USSF A license coach.

Boris Bandov, Assistant Coach, FC Westchester U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team

Boris Bandov is a former star player with the world-famous New York Cosmos (where he played with Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto and others) and a former long-time US National Team player. He has also been a professional coach and an assistant coach at Manhattan College.

 Edgar Quiroga, Head Coach FC Westchester ’94 Boys (U15s) and ’97s (U13s) 

Edgar Quiroga is formerly the head coach at Iona Prep and a long-time successful youth coach who has been to several State Cup Finals and has won the last two state cups with his 1991 team.

James Quiroga, Head Coach FC Westchester ’96/97 Boys (U13s)

James Quiroga formerly was the assistant men’s coach at Iona College and has worked over the years with a number of FC Westchester teams.

Ricardo Lyon, Head Coach, FC Westchester U14 U.S. Academy Team

A former professional player, Lyon played for Union San Felipe in Chile’s Premier Division and also played for the U17 and U20 National Teams. He has been very active in the Westchester area coaching scene, serving as Director of Soccer programs and head boys varsity coach at Sleepy Hollow H.S.and varsity soccer coach at Hackley H.S., as well as a youth coach with the Yorktown and Chapppaqua Soccer Clubs. He has also served on the ENYYSA ODP staff.

He holds a USSF B License, as well as Chilean National Futbol Institute (INAF) Certification, an .NSCAA, Regional goalkeepers license.

Niall Archbold, Head Coach FC Westchester ’98 Boys (U12s)

Coach Archbold is a former coach at NYU and a long-time successful youth coach. In addition to coaching the FCW ’95 team, Coach Archbold is heavily involved with developing our younger teams and was recently named Technical Director for our younger teams. Since coming to FC Westchester his teams have won numerous WYSL & nationally-ranked tournaments. In his playing career he played professionally in Ireland and semi professionally in the U.S. Coach Archbold holds a NCAA National license, He also coaches at the FC Westchester Academy.

Carlos Casas, Head Coach FC Westchester ’99 Boys (U11s)

Carlos Casas is a former star at Boston College and a long-time successful youth coach. He, like Gonzales, grew up playing at FC Westchester.

Brent Gaylord:  U10 Pre-Academy Training Team and U18 Team:

Gaylord is also an assistant coach at Manhattan College. Previously, he was a top player at Dominican College where he received All-Conference honors. Working with Coach Gaylord is Keith Stetler, who also coaches with the East Hudson Academy program.
