FCW's Kenny Coaches at MLS Combine
Sean Kenny, FC Westchester’s Executive Director of Coaching and Player Development for FC Westchester was one of a very select number of coaches who coached at the 2006 adidas Major League Soccer (MLS) Player Combine and worked with MLS coaches and scouts to select players for the 2006 MLS Draft.
“This was a great honor for our club to have Coach Kenny selected to be one of the coaches at the MLS Combine,” said Lonny Unger, F.C. Westchester’s president. “Coach Kenny has been with the club since almost its inception and has been one the key reasons for the club’s great success over the past several years.”
The annual player combine was held at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA from Jan. 12-15, 2006. The coaching staffs and general managers from all 12 MLS teams were in attendance to scout talent. Many of those Coach Kenny coached at the combine were drafted a week later at the 2006 MLS SuperDraft held in Philadelphia in conjunction with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention. FCW Club President Unger and Mike Mingione, a club director, attended the convention and the draft.
