FCW U16s and U18s Top PDA in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Matches

FC Westchester’s U16 and U18 teams both topped PDA Sunday in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action at Purchase College. The U16s won by a score of 4-1, while the 18s won 3-1.

In the U16 match, FC Westchester got on the board in the 20th minute when Gabe Stauber took a cross from Michael Abraham. PDA tied the game seven minutes later on a Brandon Allen penalty kick to make the score 1-1, but FC Westchester scored again five minutes before the halftime whistle when Andres Penfold finished a long punt off the foot of FCW goalkeeper Alex Kapp.

FC Westchester extended the score to 3-1 in the 47th minute on another goal by Penfold off a pass from Taylor Washington and closed out the game two minutes from time when David Alemany put home a pass from Chris Joseph.

In the U18 game, Hiroki Kobayashi opened up the scoring in the 10th minute. A late first half PDA goal evened the score, but then two second half goals by FCW’s Brian "Cobi" Span made the final score 3-1.

Both FC Westchester teams will next take on NJSA Saturday in noon and 2 p.m. games and FC Delco in 1 and 3 p.m. games Sunday.
