The FC Westchester U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy team scored on a penalty kick in the game’s final two minutes to tie South Central Premier 1-1 in a match played Wednesday night at Purchase College.

FC Westchester U16s Defeat FC Greater Boston 2-1; U18s Tie FCGB 2-2 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Action

Boston, Mass. (Feb. 28, 2010) -- After taking a late December through February break in the season, the FC Westchester U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams began play again Sunday, with the U16s taking a 2-1 decision over FC Greater Boston and the U18s tying with FCGB in games played in Canton, Mass.

FCW U18s Win, U16s Lose to Match Fit Academy in U.S. Soccer Development Academy League Action

A Keith Francisco tally powered the FC Westchester U18 team to a 1-0 victory over Match Fit Academy Sunday in U.S. Soccer Development Academy League action.

Meanwhile, the FCW U16s gave up a goal midway through the first half, dominated possession for most of the match, but couldn't find an equalizer in a 1-0 loss to Match Fit.

FCW Ties Two, Loses 1 Vs. BW Gottschee NYC on Opening Day of 2009-10 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Season
U18s Tie 1-1, U16s Lose 1-0, U14s Tie 1-1

On the opening day of the 2009-10 U.S. Soccer Development Development Academy season, the FC Westchester U18s tied BW Gottschee 1-1, while the U16s were defeated by Gottschee 1-0. Meanwhile, in U.S. Pre-Academy action, the FCW U14s tied Gottschee 1-1. The games were played at SUNY Purchase.

FC Westchester One of 18 U.S. Academy Clubs Place Both U16s and U18s In 2009 Academy Playoffs

CHICAGO (June 18, 2009) -- The field for the 2008-09 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs has been set, as the top 32 teams in both the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups have earned their place in Greensboro, N.C., from June 26-29 http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_14909441.html.  A total of 46 different clubs will be represented at the Academy playoffs with 18 clubs -- including FC Westchester -- qualifying in both the U15/16 and U17/18 age groups.

FC Westchester Wins Placement Game at 2007-8 U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Finals in California
Game Televised on ESPNU

In a game nationally-televised on ESPNU, the FC Westchester U18 team beat CASL of North Carolina. FC Westchester outlasted CASL in penalty kicks, 5-4, after playing to a 1-1 draw in the Under-18 placement match.

FC Westchester To Field Teams in New U.S. U14 and U15 Academy Leagues

Starting in September, FC Westchester will be fielding teams in new U14 and U15 leagues comprised of clubs who are members of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy program. The U14 team will be for players born in 1995/1996. The U15 team will be for those born in 1994.

FC Westchester U18s Heading to National Finals of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League
June 27, 2008
The FC Westchester U18 team has clinched te U.S. Soccer Development Academy Northeast Division title and will now head to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week July 12 to 19 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Academy Finals Week will feature the top team from each Academy Conference in the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups. Teams will participate in a round-robin format, culminating with the finals on the last day. The event will be telecast by the various ESPN network outlets with each team in the finals having at least one game broadcast.

With two more games remaining at the Academy showcase event in Greensboro, NC, the FCW '90s now have a record of 12-9-7, seven points of ahead of its closest competition for the title, BW Gottschee.

"This is just a tremendous feat for this team; we have worked incredibly hard all season and this is a great reward for this team," said coach Christian Gonzalez.

At Friday's World Cup-like draw for the Finals week -- televised by the USSF's Upper 90 Studio program -- the FC Westchester were drawn into a group comprised of the Baltimore Bays, as well as the still to be determined winners of the Academy League's Mid-America Division and the Western Division.

FC Westchester U18s Top Met Oval 3-1 And Stay Atop U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Northeast Division Standings
June 21, 2008

The FC Westchester U18s topped Met Oval 3-1 in a U.S. Soccer Development Academy match and heading into the last four games of the season FC Westchester still lays claim to first place in the Academy's Northeast Division. The winner of the division heads to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week July 12 to 19. The Academy Finals Week will feature the top team from each Academy Conference in the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups. Teams will participate in a round-robin format, culminating with a placement game on the final day.

In its Saturday win over Met Oval, the FC Westchester U18s got goals from Nicholas Jerussi and Anthony Florez (and an Met Oval own goal) to counter the lone goal from Met Oval's Walter Avans.

The FC Westchester squad next takes on BW Gottschee Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at Fordham University. Then it completes its schedule at the Academy Showcase event next weekend in Greensboro, NC with matches versus Chicago Magic, Colorado Rush and CASA of Ohio.

Meanwhile, also on Saturday, the FC Westchester U16s and the Met Oval U16s battled to a 0-0 draw.

FC Westchester Splits U16 and U18 Matches With PDA; Ties One and Loses One Vs. Match Fit Academy In U.S. Soccer Development Academy Games

FC Westchester this weekend split its U16 and U18 games with PDAA and then tied one and lost one against Match Fit in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action.

One Saturday, in the U16 age group, FC Westchester went up 1-0 on an early goal from Ryan Patino, but then PDA came back with a goal early in the second half from Alex Bramall and then a late goal from Dylan Renya to take a 2-1 victory.

In the U18s, FC Westchester got a second half goal from Jonathan Dos Reis to capture a 1-0 win over PDA. Dan Thau got the shutout in net for FC Westchester.

On Sunday, FC Westchester’s U16s got a first half goal from Tom McNamara, but then Match Fit got a equalizer late in the game from Juan Pablo Correa to tie the game at 1-1.

In the U18s, Match Fit grabbed a 4-1 victory. John Gallagher had FC Westchester’s lone goal in the second half.
FC Westchester Teams Win One, Tie Three, Lose Two at U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase Event in Rockford, IL

FC Westchester U18 team won one, tied one and lost one, while the U16s tied two games and lost one at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase event held in Rockford,

The U18s -- which remain in first place in the Academy League’s Northeast Division -- tied Clearwater Chargers 1-1, topped North Meck 5-0 and lost to the San Diego Surf 2-1. The U16s tied Clearwater 2-2, tied North Meck 1-1 and lost to the San Diego Surf 2-1.

At the showcase event, all 64 teams in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy took part and played three games throughout the weekend in front of 20 U.S. National Team scouts and more than 150 scouts from colleges and universities across the country. Approximately 100 referees, including two of U.S. Soccer’s full-time FIFA referees, officiated the weekend’s games under the watch of the U.S. Soccer Referee Education Department and other assessors.

FC Westchester U16s Beat Baltimore Bays; U18s Tie the Bays in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Play

The FC Westchester U16 squad topped the Baltimore Bays 1-0, while the FC Westchester U18s tied Baltimore Bays 1-1 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play Saturday.

The U16 team got a goal late in the first half from Brad Jacobson and saw that goal hold up throughout the second half. Chris Todd and Tim Mingione split the shutout in goal for FCW.

The U18 team -- which came into the weekend in first place in the Northeast Division of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League -- got its goal from Nick Jerussi, while the Bays goal came from Andrew Bulls.
FC Westchester U16s and U18s Both Win One, Lose One on Trip to New England in U.S. Soccer Development Play

Both the FC Westchester U16s and U18s scored a win and a loss on their trip to New England this weekend in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play.

On Sunday, both squads were victorious over Seacoast United at Seacoast’s soccer complex. The FC Westchester U16s won their game 4-1, getting two goals from Brad Jacobson and once each from Alex Marecki and Paolo Luciano. Chris George had Seacoast’s lone tally. Meanwhile, the FC Westchester U18s topped Seacoast 2-1, getting goals from Manhattan College bound Anthony Florez and rising senior Anthony Rozmus. Seacoast got their goal from Alex Hussesin.

On Saturday, the FC Westchester U16s lost 3-2 to FC Greater Boston, getting their two goals from Nicholas Pourakis and Justin Karr, while the FCW U18s lost to FC Greater Boston 4-2. FC Westchester got both its goals from Iona College bound George Pourakis. The FC Westchester U18s had entered the weekend in first place in the Northeast Division and now has a season record of 8-5-4 which should keep them in at least a tie for first.
