Two FC Westchester alums have garnered Conference Player-of-the-Week awards during the past few weeks.
Aaron Markowitz, who played for the FC Westchester ’91s and is now a freshman at Fordham University, was named was named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 7th. He shared the honor with Saint Louis’ Jonas Reiter. Markowitz, a striker from Hastings, N.Y., had a pair of crucial assists in the Rams’ first week of matches.
Meanwhile, Fernando "Junior" Londono, who played for the FCW ’87s and is now a senior at Manhattan College, was named the MAAC’s Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 14.. Londono during that week delivered five goals, including a game winner at Army, over the Jaspers three contests during the time period. He is a striker who hails from New Rochelle, N.Y.
