Keene, NH -- FC Westchester’s Sean Kenny will be inducted this coming weekend into the Keene State College Hall of Fame.
According to a Keene State spokesman, Kenny, originally from Dublin, Ireland, and now living in Mount Vernon, N.Y., "is recognized as one of the top midfielders to don a red and white Owl uniform." While at Keene State, "Kenny was a two-time All-American and All-New England player whose hard-nosed play and leadership set an example for his teammates and drew respect from his opponents. As a junior, he led Keene State to its first NCAA Division II tournament appearance."
Kenny, who currently serves as the club’s Director of Youth Development and has served as the club’s DOC, has coached several FC Westchester teams over the years to state cup championships and coached the team’s ’84 boys team to the 2000 USYSA U116 national championship.
The induction ceremony and dinner will take place this Saturday, January 24, at 6:45 p.m. at the Lloyd P. Young Student Center on the campus of Keene State.
