FC Westchester's Brian (Cobi) Span has been identified to play on US Soccer’s Development Academy Select Team against the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team on Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Development Academy Spring Showcase in Sarasota, FL.

The U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team has just completed qualifying play for the 2009 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Nigeria. Over the course of the next five months, the team’s coaching staff will be staging multiple training camps to continue to evaluate their team and search for new players. This important match at the Spring Showcase is part of their evaluation process for players born in 1992 and will allow each participating athlete to gain valuable exposure in front of the entire U-17 Men’s National Team coaching staff, as well as US Soccer scouts, college scouts, and professional scouts attending the showcase in Sarasota.
