Purchase, N.Y. -- Brian "Cobi" Span scored two goals and Keith Francisco and Hiroki Kobayashi tallied one each as FC Westchester's U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy team topped South Central Premier 4-1 in a match played Thursday night at Purchase College.

Span got FC Westchester off early, scoring in the match's 20th minute, with Francisco scoring a minute later to give FCW a 2-0 lead. Kobayashi then scored on a great chip from 20 yards out in the 55th minute to ice the game.

Meanwhile, a night earlier, the FC Westchester U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy team scored on a penalty kick in the game’s final two minutes to tie South Central Premier 1-1 in a match also played at Purchase College.

After giving up a goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half, FC Westchester mounted a comeback, putting pressure on South Central’s backline for much of the second portion of the second half. Finally, with about two minutes left in the match, Cesar Ceja was taken down in the box, leading to a penalty kick that was finished by Ryan McNamara.
