FC Westchester alum Brian "Cobi" Span has signed a professional contract, reaching an agreement with the Swedish club Djurgarden.

Span played for FC Westchester’s U.S. Soccer Development Academy program, as well as with the FCW ’91s and ’92s.  He also spent time with the U.S. Soccer U17 Residency Program.

According to "Soccer By Ives", "the 6-foot-3 winger with tremendous pace, the 19-year-old Span had seven goals and five assists in his sophomore season at Virginia and was ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect on Fox Soccer’s  most recent Big Board.  Djurgarden’s season in Sweden’s top flight begins on March 31.
